You'll be required to answer some basic questions before you can submit your application. These include:

• What program you're applying to

In addition to those basic questions, you'll need the following to start and save your application:

• Statement of Purpose: an essay describing your goals in getting a graduate degree in History. If you are applying for a teaching assistantship or fellowship, please include relevant information about your work history and qualifications.
• If applying for the MA Program: names and email addresses of two people from whom you want to request recommendations.
  If applying for the PhD Program: names and email addresses of three people from whom you want to request recommendations.
• A writing sample if you are applying for the PhD program.
